Giving Altar Flowers
Altar Flowers enhance worship, glorify God, and bring cheer to many.
They appear on the Altar on all Sundays, except those in Advent and Lent.
In Advent, simple evergreen boughs are used. In Lent, the Altar is unadorned.
For Christmas and Easter, we invite everyone to contribute to the "greening of the church" for these festive and high holy days.
On all other Sundays, a local florist provides locally procured and market-bought flowers for our Altar. They are delivered to the church at a cost of $55 per Sunday. Following worship, they are taken, in whole or part, to folks in the hospital, nursing home, or others.
To sign up for a Sunday, contact Mary M. Shepard by phone or email (252-946-4473; [email protected]).
You may cover a Sunday or share a Sunday with others to offset the cost.
Flowers may be given in honor of, in memory of, or with thanksgiving for. . . Your designation is printed in the bulletin for the Sunday requested and, if you desire, posted on our Facebook page.
